MOL Shipmanagement Singapore, the management company of the merchant ship ‘Felicity Ace’, chose Global. to manage the crisis, cause by the fire that broke on ‘Felicity Ace’, sailing under the flag of Panamá, 90 nautical miles southwest of the Azores. The ship, which was carrying cars from Germany to the USA, was on fire for several days and ended up sinking off the Azores.
What was needed was to draft a quick crisis plan and coordinate the flow of accurate and factual information to the different official bodies, with real-time monitoring of the evolving situation, not only the rescue of the crew, but also firefighting and controlling leaks of pollutants.
The incident had international repercussions and required hard public relations and press relations work, with long shifts lasting several weeks, with Global. achieving excellent results in terms of damage and reputation control.
