The magazine Wine Spectator announced in advance the ‘Buying Guide’ of the March edition. In this figure the Assobio Tinto 2014, recognized as ‘Best Value’ – wine with better price quality, with 90 points. The publication, with an estimated 3.5 million readers around the world, highlights the freshness, fruit, spice details and soft tannins of this Douro red wine from Quinta dos Murças.
Assobio Red 2014 results from the blend of the most traditional native grape varieties of the Douro – Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca – respecting the wine tradition of the oldest demarcated region in the world. The balanced, fresh, versatile and gastronomic profile mirrors the unique conditions of the Douro valley marked by different terroirs and an extreme climate, coupled with sustainable agricultural practices.
Next to one of the limits of Quinta dos Murças we find steep slopes forming a valley. In this place, of orientation mainly to the North, more protected of the sun, when the wind passes we hear him whistle. It is from vineyards such as those found there, from plots with unique characteristics to higher, Assobio white, rosé e red.
