Jorge Serôdio Borges e Sandra Tavares da Silva – Wine&Soul – come again their Douro wine PINTAS at the top of the Portuguese wines more punctuated. Andreas Larsson, o “Best Sommelier in the World” (2007, ASI) and wine director of the renowned PM & Vänner restaurant in Sweden, went to Portugal to evaluate 100 national wines in 100% blinds. PINTAS 2014 was the only wine to get 95 points, leading the list.
PINTAS is the first wine of the Wine&Soul project founded in 2001 by the couple of winemakers Jorge Serôdio Borges e Sandra Tavares da Silva. The name, inspired by the restless pointer of the couple, quickly became an international reference of the Douro.Its third harvest, PINTAS 2011, obtained the best ever score of a non-generous Portuguese wine by the world “bible” of wines, the prestigious American magazine “Wine Spectator”.
The Douro red PINTAS expresses the character of the octogenarian old vineyard that gives it origin. The unique vineyard, made up of 30 indigenous Douro vine varieties, creates an exceptional field blend that strives for a balance between concentration, complexity and elegance.
Pintas 2014 it is balanced, fresh and mineral with a very intense purple color, violet aromas combined with ripe black berry fruits, spices and dark chocolate. With a limited production – 6 thousand bottles 75cl – Pintas 2014 can be found in the market for an approximate value of 75 euros.
