COS AND SWINE STUDIO PRESENT PERFORMANCE NEW SPRING DURING DESIGN MIAMI / 2017
This December, the COS x Studio Swine facility, which focuses on a steam bubble sculpture, arrives in Miami Beach during Design Miami /.
Miami will be the first stop of the show after its much held revelation during the Salone del Mobile, this year at Milan. The installation, which won the Most Engaging Exhibition award during Milan Design Week, started with an open COS briefing and exemplifies the interdisciplinary sensitivity of Studio Swine.
The Miami exhibition will be the official Satellite of the design fair, being recreated on a large scale in an illuminated environment designed by the Studio Swine in a historic art deco building.
Studio Swine, an artistic collaboration between the Japanese architect Azusa Murakami and British artist Alexander Groves was responsible for the design of the installation around the sculpture, which emits bubbles of vapor that burst and evaporate when in contact with the skin, but which survive momentarily by touching textured fabrics.
This first repetition of the installation draws attention to the natural and industrial, while making minimal use of resources to create an immersive multisensory experience. The sculpture will be reused and improved, while the interior area of the exhibition will take a completely different approach.
The exact location of the exhibit, which will be within walking distance of the Miami / Main Design Fair, will be revealed closer to the date.
