Casio has introduced the new EQB-501XDB / 501XD from its EDIFICE line of watches that have the concept of “Speed and Intelligence.” The new EQB-501XDB / 501XD watch connects to smartphones to update the time and information inside the watch.
In 2017, Casio will release clocks equipped with the Connected Engine module, which connects to a smartphone to maintain the correct time and update the internal clock data.
The new models feature the Connected Engine module that allow EDIFICE to keep the time always accurate. The clocks perform automatic time adjustment four times a day using the Accurate Time System which obtains the time data from a smartphone, also updates the internal clock data in relation to daylight saving time (DST) and time zone. You can also set world time from a choice of over 300 cities by tapping the desired city from a dedicated app. The time of the home country can be displayed in the main display and the world time on the dial entered at the 9 o’clock position, thus displaying two different times simultaneously. The user can switch the displays simply by pressing a button, very useful for those traveling across the globe on business or pleasure.
The watches also have a dial inserted at the 4 o’clock position which displays the day of the week and mode and can be connected to a dedicated app to record lap times and calculate the average speed in the circuit. The timer data can be sent to a smartphone in 1/1000 second units.
The design of the EQB-501XDB / 501XD watches emphasizes functionality and sporty look with a bezel that incorporates a tachymeter. The EQB-501XDB features a blue seconds hand and a black ion bezel, while the EQB-501XD features a red second hand. The EQB-501XDB / 501XD chronograph watches combine the precise time with practical features such as a solar movement, water resistance and chronometer and alarm functions in a bold and stylish metal design.
