    02 of June of 2015

In the 20th of June comes the Big Day.

Gastronomy, nature, wine making, culture. Alentejo’s traditions, shows, talks. From morning to night, live every single hour.

For the first time, the Herdade do Esporão opens its doors for more than 24 hours straight, on a day that will seem like two. The invitation is for all who wish to experience the aromas and flavors of Esporão: wine tasting, food, music, culture and Alentejo landscapes. More than forty activities for a day, a night and a memorable wake are available. Esporão even challenges to stay overnight in the Homestead, having prepared an area with tents, set up especially to enjoy nature and quiet of the Alentejo dawn with every comfort.

It proposed 24 hours to liveAlentejo, to stop and feel the nature. The ancient knowledge merges with the new, tradition and contemporaneity, sustainability with innovation, all in a time commanded by nature. This is how Esporão presents the program of the Big Day, full of workshops on food, farming practices, astronomy or Instagram. Wine and olive oil tastings, fauna and flora observation, activities for children and a market complete the program.

In the Great Day will be possible to observe, sow, reap and create. Meals are in the field, with the best that the earth has to offer. The traditional Alentejo cuisine finds the perfect symbiosis with the contemporary through the hands of the guests chefs. For those who prefer a conversation in the late Alentejo afternoon , Esporão opens the cellar ‘Adega dos Lagares’ 3 moments of get-together on gastronomy, livelihoods and enology – Pedro Pena Bastos (head of the Wine Tourism) of Esporão, João Roquette (CEO of Esporão) and Luís Patrão (winemaker of Esporão) direct the conversation.

Enjoy nature is an imperative, outdoor naps have a permanent place in the program and complement the call for full enjoyment of the senses. The sounds of the field also have harmonization marked with the Alentejo sing of the group ‘Os Alentejanos’, and the urban sounds of Bruno Pernadas and Mario Franco, Suzie’s Velvet and DJ Set Fat & Slim, who will act in the Homestead along the Big Day .

Thought to be a family program, the Big Day Esporão will allow a complete experience to young and old. Children will have plenty of room to play and lots of nature to discover, in a region where freedom is still untouchable. The children’s programming, the babysitting service and overnight in tents with all the comforts, will allow the whole family to enjoy in full the Big Day.
